Introductory documents required to apply with application form are age proof from both the parties that includes birth certificate, school leaving certificate, transfer certificate, SSC or HSC certificate, passport, Bonafide certificate, Hall ticket 10th or certificate of age by gram sevak. Along with this recent passport size photographs are also required. For address or residential proof, Aadhaar card copy, passport copy, election identity card copy, rent agreement copy (registered), MSEB electricity bill having name of the applicant, ration card copy is accepted.
In case any of the applicant is divorcee, widow or widower then copy of judgement and court decree and death certificate of spouse (if anyone’s spouse is not alive) is applicable. At the time of document submission, registrar also check documents of witness and a copy of witness’s identity is also required. Three witness’s identification proofs are required. Witness should be an adult and must be more than 21 years of age. Though witness could be relative, parents of friends of any of the applicant.
Documents requirement for social marriage or Arya Samaj marriage is same. It takes minimum 30 days for processing the application. However, the time period can be increased up to 60 days after submission of the documents. Applicant can choose any one date during this period for receiving the certificate on appointed date before the ADM.
Marriage Registry Rules:
Case I – If applicant A is living in Thane and applicant B belongs to the Gujarat then the applicants are eligible to apply in any of the place. But they must be resident of that particular place for at least six months.
Case II – If applicant A living in Thane and applicant B person is living in Raipur but the marriage is solemnized in any third place for instance in Delhi. In this case the couple can apply for marriage registration in any of these three places. All they are supposed to do is to visit nearest registrar office where the marriage was solemnized with their parents / guardians and witnesses along with the required documents under the one month duration.
